Our mission is to create, through design, an evolution towards a new circular lifestyle and economic model, capable of creating solutions that improve people’s lives and have less impact on the environment.

This is a complex and ambitious path which implies us to rethink our very concept of design, which can no longer be just “design”, but must become a true “project”.
A valuable proposal that is as regenerative and aligned with Nature as possible, which includes research and the adoption of more responsible materials and production processes.

Eco-design and circularity

80% of the environmental impact of products is determined by the production phase.

This is why Frezza believes that eco-design is essential to achieve the production of goods and services with a reduced environmental impact. Eco-design, in fact, encompasses many aspects related to the concept of circular economy: the durability and reparability of products, production efficiency in terms of energy and resources, the possibility for high quality recycling, but also sustainability in transport and distribution.

More sustainable raw materials

To improve the environmental and social performance of our products, we have started to adopt an approach that takes into account the entire product life cycle, starting with the sourcing of raw materials. This path of continuous improvement involves:

  • a sustainable supply chain: the main suppliers have been surveyed to quantify their consumption of water and energy, as well as the amount of waste and emissions generated along the entire value chain. This allows Frezza to favour suppliers with a lower environmental impact.
  • research into responsible materials and products. In 2022 Frezza focused on research and experimentation of new materials with reduced environmental impact such as recycled polyester (rPET), regenerated (post-industrial) and recycled (post-consumer) polymers, BIO foams and regenerated ECONYL® fabrics from fishing nets, fabric scraps and industrial plastics.

From production to responsible consumption

Production

In order to reduce the impact of production waste, we have purchased a new textile cutting bench. Our aim is to find partners that will use textile waste for the production of small merchandising items (pens, bags, etc.) and to completely renew our panel processing machinery fleet.

Distribution

We have placed a focus on sustainability also in our packaging materials.
On some product lines, we decided to eliminate polystyrene and other plastics in favour of using cardboard.
The result? 82.3% less polystyrene and 41.8% less plastic materials.

When it comes to seating, on the other hand, we give the option to purchase our products partially assembled. This not only reduces the size and amount of cardboard used for packaging, but also consumes less during distribution through a reduction in the quantity of transported cubic metres.

Consumption and waste

Our commitment to minimise the consumption of valuable resources and reduce the production of waste is embodied in solutions that are designed to last a long time, with warranties on all our products extending up to 10 years. Frezza’s technical department also guarantees the supply of spare parts for upholstered products, aiming to extend the life of the product as much as possible while at the same time allowing for proper separation and disposal of materials.
