anniversario per i 70 anni di Frezza alla Milano Design Week 2024

2024 marks Frezza’s return to the Fuorisalone, this time with a new collection for the office of the future, created in collaboration with Stefano Boeri Interiors studio to pay homage to its history: Mux70.

During the 2024 Milano Design Week, Frezza celebrated a double event in what is, quintessentially, the world’s most important design showcase.

While on one hand the brand was recently included in the register of historic Italian brands representing Made in Italy in the world, on the other it seized the opportunity to kick off the celebrations for its 70th anniversary.

This important milestone demonstrates the longevity of a company that has never stopped renewing itself and embracing change while cherishing its traditions and roots.

To celebrate these two important goals, Frezza presented an exclusive preview at the Fuorisalone – within the IBM Studios in Milan – of the new Mux70 executive collection, designed in collaboration with studio Stefano Boeri Interiors (SBI).

“For Frezza, collaborating with studio Stefano Boeri Interiors represents the union between three elements that have always been part of the company’s DNA: innovation, design and sustainability.
A perfect collaboration between two realities that represent the excellence of Made in Italy worldwide.”

(Cristian Faggiani, general manager Frezza)

The contemporary and future office, which was brought to life in the installation curated by arch. G. Canton, is an environment where the boundaries between work and private space are blurred; an increasingly dynamic and versatile place that puts people’s well-being at the forefront.

The location chosen for the event, i.e. IBM Studios in Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan, was the ideal place to share the story of a company whose craftsmanship tradition, which first began in 1954, has led it to become one of the most important international benchmarks in workplace design.

The Milano Design Week ended for Frezza with record numbers in terms of visitor attendance. The exclusive evening events, organised to celebrate the company anniversary with close partners and attendable by private invitation only, also met great success.

The first evening, which included a buffet dinner and a DJ set with Nicola Vitiello and DJ Tato from Radio Deejay + surprise special guest Skin DJ, was dedicated to both Italian and foreign partners from all over Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

The second evening, again with a buffet dinner and DJ set by Nicola Vitiello DJ Tato from Radio Deejay, joined by saxophonist Max the Sax, was reserved for architects and facility managers.

The achieved result was fruit of true teamwork, thanks to the dedication and passion of both the entire in-house team, the designers and all those involved, who demonstrated a great sense of belonging to the brand.

MUX70: time and space for the executive office of the future

“In designing the Mux70 collection, we worked on the dimensions of space and time: space as an environment or set of changing environments that the furnishings can compose and transform; time as a collection of moments and functions that the furnishings themselves are capable of suggesting and accommodating”
(Stefano Boeri)

“To design this project, we threw ourselves into the future, imagining what needs and trends will continue to define the everyday life of tomorrow’s manager. We found an answer in modular furniture, which is capable of giving shape to a versatile space. This type of furniture can be both functional and welcoming, and is suitable for team work, formal meetings and also more relaxed moments.”

(Giorgio Donà, partner & director di SBI)

Frezza’s seventieth anniversary could only be celebrated with a tribute to the historic Mux executive desk launched in 1984. An open and modular system of furnishings – tables, desks, cupboards and boiserie – revisited in a contemporary key to express both time and space in the contemporary office.

The collection, designed by Stefano Boeri Interiors for Frezza, is characterised by a focus on flexibility, through furnishing elements that can move and redesign spaces according to the needs of the Millennial manager and that, thanks to its sophisticated design, can also adapt to domestic environments.

Besides focusing on flexibility, Mux70 is also an advocate for new demands in terms of sustainability and durability, through the use of natural materials such as wood, but also from a life-cycle, reuse and post-use point of view.
